- The EPIPHANY of the LORD [Solemnity] By ancient custom for this solemnity, formerly celebrated on January 6, the dates of the movable feasts for the coming year may be solemnly proclaimed and calendars blessed and distributed. 1^st reading Isaiah 60:1-6; Psalm 72:1-2, 7-8, 10-13; 2^nd reading Ephesians 3:2-3, 5-6 ; Gospel Matthew 2:1-12. The Lord, revealed to the Jews through the shepherds is now revealed to the Gentiles through the Magi [Mt 2:1-2] as foretold in Scripture [Is 60:3, Ps 72:11] and celebrated by Saint Paul [Eph 3:6]

God spoke to John the Baptist [Jn 1:33] to announce the foretold servant [Is 49:6] Who will announce His justice [Ps 40:9] and call us all to follow [1 Cor1:2]

- 3^rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. 1^st reading Isaiah 8:23-9:3; Psalm 27:1, 4, 13-14; 2^nd reading 1 Corinthians 1:10-13, 17; Gospel Matthew 4:12-23 Jesus brought light to the world [Mt 4:16-17] as foretold by Is [9:1]. May we be united [1 Cor 1:10] under His protection [Ps 27:1]
