June 7 - THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS -  1st reading - Ezechiel 34:11-16;  Psalm - 23:1-6; 2nd reading  - Romans 5:5-11;  Gospel - Luke 15:3-7. ORDINARY TIME

June 9- 10th  Sunday in Ordinary Time1st reading -2 Samuel 12:7-10, 13; Psalm - 32:1-2, 5, 7, 11; 2nd reading - Galatians 2:16, 19-21; Gospel Luke 7:36-50.  Like David before [2 Sam 12:7-10, 13], and the woman at the meal [Luke 7:36-50], happy are we with faith  in Jesus [Gal 2:16], repent and confess out sins which are then forgiven [Ps32:1] 

June 16 - 11th  Sunday in Ordinary Time. - 1st reading -Zechariah 12:12-11; 13:1; Psalm - 63:2-6, 8-9; 2nd reading - Galatians 3:26-29; Gospel Luke 9:18-24.  The death of Jesus brings forth purification for the house of  David [Zech 13:1] and for all who are Abraham’s descendents through baptism [Gal 3:26-29],  but this requires that we take up the cross and follow Jesus [Luke 9: 23-24]

June 23 - 12th  Sunday in Ordinary Time. 1st reading   2nd reading -

June 24 - BIRTH OF JOHN THE BAPTIST [Solemnity]  1st reading  Isaiah 49:1-6; Psalm  139:1-3, 13-15; 2nd reading  Acts 13:22-26;  Gospel  Luke 1:57-66, 80   What indeed will this child turn out to be? [Luke 1:66] chosen from the womb [Ps 139 13-15] as the Lord’s servant [Is 49:1-6] he completes the preparation of Israel for the arrival of the Christ/Messiah [Acts 13:22-26]  For more see the Saints Calendar.

June 29 - PETER AND PAUL, APOSTLES  [Solemnity]  -  1st reading  Acts 12:1-11; Psalm  34:2-9; 2nd reading  2 Timothy 4:6-8, 17-18;  Gospel  Matthew 16:13-19   These first leaders proclaimed Jesus the Messiah, the son of God [Mt 16: 17] in the face of the threat of death [Acts 12:2-3 & 2Tim 4:17-18], trusting in God’s care [Ps 34:4]   For more see the Saints Calendar.

June 30 - 13th  Sunday in Ordinary Time. 1st reading 1 Kings 19:16, 19-21; Psalm - 16:1-2, 5, 7-11; 2nd reading - Galatians 5:1, 13-18; Gospel Luke 9:51-62.  We are called to leave the dying world behind [Lk 9:60] and to find our delight Ps16:9-11] by following Jesus  in service and love of others [Gal 5:13] as Elisha followed Elijah [1 Kngs 1
