ORDINARY TIME

October 5  27th  Sunday in Ordinary Time.  1st reading -Isaiah 5:1-7 ; Psalm - 80:9, 12-16, 19-20; 2nd reading - Philippians 4:6-9; Gospel - Matthew 21:33-43  God has planted a vineyard [Mt 21:33-43] He has brought it from Egypt [Ps 80:8] and planted it well [Is 5:1-7] we are called to be the harvest [Phil 4:8-9]  

October 12 28th  Sunday in Ordinary Time.  1st reading -Isaiah 25:6-10 ; Psalm - 23:1-6; 2nd reading - Philippians 4:12-14, 19-20; Gospel - Matthew 22:1-14  God has prepared a wedding banquet [Is 25:6-7] and has invited us in [Ps 23:5-6].  Will we respond [Mt 22:1-14] and let him fill all our needs [Phil 4:20]? 
October 19  29th Sunday in Ordinary Time.  1st reading -Isaiah 45:1, 4-6 ; Psalm - 96:1, 3-5, 7-10; 2nd reading - 1 Thessalonians 1:1-5; Gospel - Matthew 22:15-21   God is King of all [Is45:4-6]; He has called us [1 Thess 1:4-5]; Will we render to Him His due [Mt 21:21] and call all nations to Him [Ps 96:10]   
October 26  30th  Sunday in Ordinary Time.  1st reading -Exodus 22:20-26; Psalm - 18:2-4, 47, 51; 2nd reading - 1 Thessalonians 1:5-10; Gospel - Matthew 22:34-40  Jesus reiterates the two Great Commands [Mt 22:34-40] to love God [Ps 18:1]  and to love our neighbor [Ex 22:20-26] in imitation of Jesus [1 Thess 1:5-10]
